An account of my time at the Marine Corps pre-deployment briefing, including the vertiginous concept of the Family Readiness Plan.

Also, my Japanese friends worry about the lump in my breast.

Comments:

The Army is the same way. "Brief" is definitely an oxymoron.

Extra money is mainly from tax free, which I think Iraq still is. I know it's still no consolation, or rather there's no dollar value you can place on having your husband there... But, it does work out to a fair bit. As an E4 the 1st time I deployed, it was nearly double pay.
