Sorry this took so long. (I know you all were anxiously waiting for the djembe of the month!) My mother came for a three-week visit the beginning of November, and my husband deployed two weeks after she left, so all of November and December are pretty much a blur for me. This is the first chance I've had to sit down and go through the two hours of class I recorded to pick out the sections I wanted to save.
October's rhythm was actually two related rhythms from the Susu tribe in Guinea, called Yankadi (the first rhythm) and Makuru (the second). They're both partner dance rhythms, and they're usually played together at dance parties (dances for fun, as opposed to dances for a specific purpose). Hope you enjoy them!
