I've lived in so many different places over the years that I can no longer answer the question "Where are you from?" I usually end up lying without meaning to --- it's just easier to pick someplace, anyplace, like Kansas or Florida or Virginia (all places I actually have, in fact, lived) than it is to explain that I have never, ever gathered any moss. I speak three languages with varying degrees of competence, and a random collection of useful phrases in a handful of others. So I can order a beer and find the bathroom in a wide swath of the known world, with the exception of Quebec where, apparently, it's a matter of national honor never to understand the French of anyone who isn't a native. I'm a compulsive reader and writer, a freelance editor, a mother, a Buddhist, a drummer, a bellydancer, and a war-protesting military spouse. For a few years, I was even a low-level diplomat. Being a stranger all over again every three years is a hard thing to do, but I've gotten to see some amazing things and meet some very interesting people. Then, when I have an hour, I write about it. Welcome to my life.
Hey Torah,
I haven't been keeping up with any of this lately!!! Don't know exactly what I have been doing but I do know that I have been busy as it sounds that you have been also. I read that your husband is gone, is he back yet? How has belly dancing going? Your picture is lovely!!! As always I enjoy your posts!!!
thank u
it's always nice getting feedback from u
Hello Gaijin, thank you for your comment. I agree with Fortroligt, you have a lovely and warm site.
Good Health and True Happiness to you and your family.
Just reading through some stuff. I know one song from Afro Celt Sound System. It was on the soundtrack for Gangs of New York. Very cool song. Are they good all around?
Ok. I signed up. I have a "wild voice" now. It's an interesting site. Lots of features but I think I will stick with tribe for the most part because I set down roots there.
The idea of merging text, audio and video in a single blog space does open up a lot of possibilities but apparently not the possibility of a spell check function (hint hint - tell your friend)
Peace,
LF
Hi Torah. I can relate too to not knowing where I come from. I tell people that i am from Arizona because I was born there and my parents live there now but I haven't lived there since I was 2 years old. I sort of refer myself to be a gypsy, but really looking for a home. It is fun for the time being to travel around and experience new and exciting things but eventually we will crave for permanence in our lives. It's all part of trying to fulfill balance in our lives I guess. I'll eventually add on to my space on this homepage but I only signed up to say hi. Sorry I've been sort of a hermit. Love- Natalie
