It is easy to join WildVoice.com, and easier to sign in:

1. Go to http://www.wildvoice.com/

2. Join

If you aren't a member, click "Join". Fill out the brief user account information to create a free account on WildVoice.com. You'll receive a verification email that you'll need to activate your account the first time you sign in.

3. Sign-in

Click "sign-in". Enter your username and password, click "Sign In"

If this is the first time you are signing in you must also enter your verification code from your welcome e-mail. You can copy and paste the code from your email.

The simplest and quickest way to make a recording is to use the web page recorder WildVoice "Shout". This is available for Windows Users and provides an easy way to make a Podcast, a quick recording, or to leave audio comments. This How To describes how to create a recording for your Spotlight Channel using the WildVoice  "Shout" recorder.

1. Check your PC Microphone or headset is properly attached.

A simple PC microphone or headset is all you need to make recordings. Most PC sound cards and headsets have color coded connectors. The microphone normally goes in to the Reddish-Pink connector and the Headphone goes in to the Green connector.

2. Click Record in Dashboard

Login to WildVoice.com and simply click the "Record" button that appears on top of the WildVoice page. This will take you to the "Edit Post" page which will let you create a new recording for your Spotlight Channel.

3. Enter title for recording

Give your post a title. This title will be displayed in the WildVoice player when people listen to your recording.

4. Click "Record Now with Shout"

If you've already made a recording using WildVoice Studio or another recording tool, you can click "Upload – from your computer" to use your existing recording in WildVoice. However, if you'd like to record something new, Windows users can click "Record – Now with Shout"

If you are prompted, accept the security dialog that says "Run" the application.

The recorder will load.

5. Press Record

Press the Record button to start recording.

6. Record your comments, or an entire show

Make your recording. Then click the "Stop" button when you are finished.

7. Press Play

Press "Play" to preview your recording

8. Click "Save Recording"

If you are happy with your recording, click "Save Recording". This will send your recording to WildVoice so it can be posted. Otherwise press "Record" again and repeat steps 8 to 11.

9. Enter some show notes

Enter some show notes in the text editor to describe who you are or what you're talking about. You can also add a picture or tags to identify your post.

10. Click Save

Click the Save Button to save the post.

11. View your new post

Your new post and recording will be displayed in your Spotlight Channel. If you like, you can click the Play button to hear how your post sounds

When you post recordings or Podcasts on WildVoice.com, you can easily play those recording in other sites using the WildVoice Player. This "How To" guide describes how to create a recording and have your recordings play from your MySpace page.

There are three main steps to do this. First, join and sign in to WildVoice.com. Then you can use the tools from WildVoice.com to make your recording and post it in your WildVoice Spotlight Channel. Then you can generate the Html code you need to include the WildVoice.com player in your MySpace Profile or Blog post. Once you've created a Podcast it is easy to include the WildVoice Player in your MySpace profile or blog post. First, just view your WildVoice Spotlight Channel. Click the Spotlight Channel tab when you view your own site. 

1. Edit the Channel You Want to Use for your Player

Your new recording and post is contained in your Spotlight Channel. You can embed the WildVoice Player in another web site that will play all the recordings you leave in your Spotlight Channel. Now that you have a recording in your Spotlight Channel, click the "Shows Setup" link.

2. Expand the Generate HTML section

Expand the optional section called "Generate Html" by clicking the "+" sign.

3. Select a skin for the WildVoice player

Select a skin for your player from the skin list.

4. Set the player options

Select other player options such as:

• Play when page loads – to have your most recent recording play automatically
• Play all songs – to play all of your recordings in order
• Repeat Play List – to loop the entire list of recordings in your channel

5. Copy the generated Html code

Html code will be generated and displayed in the text box. Right click on the text box and select "Select All". Right Click again and select "Copy". This HTML code can be pasted into other sites to display the WildVoice Player.

6. Navigate to your other site and log in

Now, go to your other site. In this example we will use MySpace.com. Log in to edit your MySpace Profile.

7. Click Edit Profile

8. Add the generated Html to your profile

Click in the "About Me" section (or another if you prefer). Right click and select Paste. This will paste in the Html you copied from WildVoice. Now click "Save All Changes".

9. Click "View My Profile"

Click "View My Profile" to see your changes.

The WildVoice Player with the skin you've selected will be displayed as part of your MySpace profile. Each show or Podcast you post on WildVoice will be displayed in the player.

10. You're Done!

The WildVoice Player will be displayed in your MySpace page so your MySpace friends can hear your recordings from WildVoice.com.

Congratulations, you've now added your personal audio broadcast to your MySpace profile.

You can subscribe to a channel and automatically receive updates whenever the show's creator posts a new show. There is lots of great software that will do this for you. In this quick guide I’ll show you how to use Apple’s iTunes and Juice.

• You can download and install iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
• You can download and install Juice from http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/

1. All Channels on WildVoice.com have a little link that says “Subscribe”

 

2. Find the channel you want to subscribe to and hover the mouse over the subscribe link.

• On Windows running IE, point to the Subscribe link, right click, and select “Copy Shortcut”
• On Windows running Firefox, point to the Subscribe link, right click, and select “Copy Link Location”

To Subscribe Using  iTunes 1. Run iTunes (this example uses iTunes 6.0.4.2) 2. Go to the Advanced menu in iTunes and select "Subscribe to Podcast.." 3. Paste the URL you had copied from the Shows "Subscribe" link. (control-V works nicely). 4. Click OK and iTunes will read the Channel information from WildVoice 5. You can now listen to the Podcast from within iTunes and iTunes will automatically update the playlist when new shows are posted.

To Subscribe using Juice 1. Run Juice (this example uses V2.2) 2. Click the Add New Feed button 3. Paste the URL you had copied from the Shows “Subscribe” link (Control-V works nicely) 4. Click Save and you'll see Juice will display a new subscription for this WildVoice Channel. 5. Click the Check for new podcasts.   6. Juice will make each show in the channel available to be downloaded. Juice will also download any new shows that are posted to the channel.
