Joy grew up in Allendale, MI and began attending Berkley Hills in 1997.  She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2006 as Valedictorian, and has just finished her first year at Princeton Theological Seminary.

"I've always known I was called to serve God, but I thought I could do that as a writer.  My call into full-time ministry still suprises me, but also energizes me."

Her hopes for the future include working in a church as an ordained minister and eventually teaching at a Christian university or seminary.
